Sonnex Energie is pleased to announce a joint venture with Solar EPC Development Ltd, a leading professional EPC company in Bangladesh, to co-develop the market further and plan a 500 MW solar module manufacturing facility by 2028. This strategic collaboration marks a significant step toward strengthening local solar manufacturing and accelerating the clean energy transition in South Asia.

Strong Partnership Built on Proven Collaboration

Sonnex Energie and Solar EPC Development Ltd already share a strong working relationship, having successfully completed solar projects in Bangladesh for respected local companies such as A&A Trousers and AKH Group, using Sonnex high-efficiency solar modules. Building on this success, both companies are now joining forces to expand into local manufacturing and project development.

Phase 1: Local Project Development and EPC Execution

The joint venture’s first phase will focus on local solar project development, EPC services and distribution, led by Solar EPC Development Ltd, with Sonnex Energie supplying premium-quality solar panels. This phase supports Bangladesh’s national renewable energy targets by enabling faster, more reliable execution of commercial and industrial PV projects.

500 MW Solar Module Production Line by 2028

The second phase of the collaboration will involve setting up a state-of-the-art solar module production line in Bangladesh, with an annual capacity of 500 megawatts (MW). This facility will be designed to serve both the local market and neighboring countries with German-quality, high-efficiency modules produced locally.

    Advantages of Manufacturing in Bangladesh

    • Cost-Effective Operations: Competitive labor and infrastructure costs support efficient large-scale manufacturing.
    • Regional Access: Strategically located to serve growing solar markets in South Asia and beyond.
    • Government Support: Bangladesh offers strong policy incentives for renewable energy and clean-tech investment.
    • Local Development: The project will generate skilled jobs, foster technology transfer, and boost local industrial capabilities.

Empowering the Region with Smart, Sustainable Energy

“Our joint venture reflects a long-term commitment to sustainable growth and energy independence in South Asia,” said a spokesperson from Sonnex Energie. “With Solar EPC Development Ltd’s local strength and Sonnex’s technology leadership, we are well positioned to deliver high-performance solar solutions and build a robust clean energy supply chain.”
